Light of Christ Christmas Advent Calendar
Advent Calendar to Find Light of Christ
Christmas Advent Calendar that will bring you closer to the spirit of Christ
I’ll admit that this Christmas Countdown Calendar was born from a personal need. I needed to feel more and Christmastime rather than do more. It’s so easy for me to get caught up in the frenzy and the fun of Christmas. All the amazing decorations! The lights, the music, the parties!
Those are the good things. But I also fall into the trap of believing I need to spend money in order to show my love, that Christmas is about sacrificing to make sure my kids get everything on their lists. And that’s when I lose my cool and my personality and I suck the joy out of Christmas.
Knowing this about myself, I designed this Light of Christ Advent Calendar as a way to keep the Spirit of Christ in Christmas by giving me a scripture and a meaningful action that I could take every day of the Christmas season.
Advent by definition means “the arrival of a notable person, thing, or event.” This year I wanted my Christmas Countdown to lead, not to a thing (Christmas Day) but to the notable person that we’re supposed to look to at Christmas, even Christ.
I can’t be the only person who wants to celebrate the Advent by looking to Christ.

My hope is that it will bring your Christmas more meaning, or at least help you make the season more thoughtful so that you enjoy it more.

To beautify the advent calendar, and to keep an element of surprise I put each card in a small envelope and clipped the number tag to the envelope with a gold paper clip. I also used my trusty laminator to add gold foil to the tags, but you could color the tags to match your Christmas decor. Then I put the envelopes in a basket near my nativity set so that I would see them each day and remember to check the daily envelope.
Such an easy way to bring the Christmas season to life. I hope you enjoy this project and that you let me know in the comments if it helped you be less stressed and enjoy Christmas a little more.
