DIY Phone Case Covers
DIY Phone Covers and Phone Cases
Make these Fun & Funky DIY Phone Cases
My challenge in crafting gifts is making something that’s pretty and that’s pretty useful. This gift idea hits both marks. With endless possibilities for design or embellishment, and used for something we literally carry around all day, these Fun and Funky DIY Phone Cases are a nearly perfect gift idea.
DIY Phone Cases with style start with the Pop Socket. These useful handholds are necessary for today’s large phone and they come in a variety of designs. So I always design around the Pop Socket and I include it with my gift.
Always use clear shock-resistant covers for your designs. It allows you to have complete freedom in designing the phone cover because it works with any phone cover design.
THE EASIEST PHONE COVER TO MAKE: PAPER
Using scrapbook paper as your base is the easiest way to make a cover. It doesn’t even require a cutting machine. Simply trace your phone cover onto the scrapbook paper and cut it slightly smaller than your trace. Nestle it into the clear phone case and snap it on.
OPTIONS IF YOU’RE USING A CRICUT TO MAKE YOUR PHONE COVER
A cutting machine like my Cricut Explore Air 2 or my Cricut Maker make precision cuts easy so you can make your cover using Patterned Removable Vinyl or any Removable Vinyl and the design will stick directly to the phone for a custom fit.
I also used my Cricut to cut a piece of vinyl to cover an old faded Pop Socket.

PHONE COVER BLISS : USING EMBELLISHMENTS
Embellishments make all the difference when designing your own Phone Covers. Here’s a few ideas for you.
- Find and use amazing clipart by printing it on sticker paper or printable vinyl.
- Dig into your collection of stickers. You’ll be surprised what you own that you’ve forgotten about.
- Cut specialty vinyl such as glitter, adhesive foil, and patterned vinyl into shapes and images.
- Use Washi Tape to make stripes.
- Cut her name using vinyl to add to the case. Or use letter stickers to personalize it.
