DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments
Make Farmhouse Ornaments for your Christmas Tree
DIY Farmhouse Ornaments! Christmas and Farmhouse just go together. There’s something sweetly nostalgic about retro Christmas scrapbook paper and printables when they’re transformed into amazing Christmas ornaments for your tree. These farmhouse ornaments are simple to make–especially if you use your Cricut machine! But owning a Cricut isn’t necessary. You can make most of the farmhouse ornaments without any special equipment.

These Farmhouse Ornaments are less an exact how-to tutorial and more inspiration for ways that you can make your own Farmhouse Ornaments. For an exact tutorial on a beautiful farmhouse checked globe ornament, check out this post (it’s amazing). I also think you’d love these Buffalo Check ornaments, and the full tutorial and pattern is also available in our Freebie Library, so check those out too.
I made these five ornaments during a LIVE Craft and Chat in our free Facebook Group in about an hour (not including cutting the paper and vinyl). I’ve condensed that video down so that you can see how I created these quickly.
Here’s the supplies I used:
Framed Farmhouse Christmas:
- 4″X6″ Frame with the backing removed
- Red and Green Vinyl – cut using my Cricut Explore Air
- 1.5″ bottle brush trees.
Framed Car with Tree:
- Pack of 2 small frames (I got these from the dollar store)
- Printed graphic for middle of frame. Print your own using word and an imported image.
- Twine
- 1.5″ bottle brush tree.
Small Circular Ornament:
- Scrapbook paper in two coordinating prints, cut into 2- 4″ circles
- Small pre-cut wooden ornament – these are 4″ in size.
- Scrapbook paper in red, green and silver, cut into a mistletoe flower using a Cricut 3D image
Large Circular Ornaments:
- Scrapbook paper in two coordinating prints, cut into circles.
- Black scrapbook paper cut into siloutte images using an ornament SVG file (I’ve seen several available in Design Space too)
Dear Santa Letter:
- 4″ x 6″ kraft envelope
- Santa postage stamp (a real one from the post office)
- Black inkpad and a filigree stamp (you could easily draw swirls on with a marker)
- Black vinyl “Dear Santa,” cut using the Cricut.
- Glitter alphabet stickers in red.
Check out the video below to see how I put them together. Also don’t forget to check out these other amazing ornament ideas!
