DIY Faux Leather Cactus Keychains
These Easy DIY Cactus Keychains Make Great Gifts!
I love to upgrade my keychains from time to time. Keychains are such a fun way to express yourself and these Faux Leather Cactus Keychains are the perfect mix of South Beach flair with a little 1960’s Palm Beach thrown in. It’s a vibe that I’m really feeling right now.
Best of all, these keychains are so fast and easy that you can treat all your girlfriends.
This project is perfect for a Cricut machine, but also fast and easy if all you have is a pair of scissors!

- Mod Podge
- Foam Brush

- Optional: Tassels or other embellishments, purchased or handmade.
STEPS TO MAKE YOUR FAUX LEATHER CACTUS KEYCHAIN
- Cut your faux leather into cactus shape. You can access the shape on Design Space using the link above, or download the template from our freebie library (get your password here) then trace and cut out your cactus. For best results when using the Cricut Explore Air, use Cricut Faux Leather. The Cricut Maker can cut any brand faux or real leather.
- Cut your scrapbook paper into the cactus shape using the same method as in step 1.
- Use Mod Podge to glue the scrapbook paper to the reverse (or rough) side of the faux leather, then brush the Mod Podge over the top of the scrapbook paper to seal it. Let dry completely.
- Use a nail or other sharp pointed object to make a hole in the top of the cactus for the keychain.
- Attach keychain. I picked up keychains with an extra length of chain attached that was very helpful for attaching to the cactus.
- Add any embellishments, or the cut vinyl “Looking Sharp” or “Caliente”
