How to Investigate and Repair A Vibrating Washing Machine Yourself
We knew we were in trouble when our washing machine sounded like a 747 trying to take off. It vibrated so badly that the cat refused to go into the laundry room while it was washing–a problem since that’s where her liter box lives. We employed the time-honored tradition of ignoring the problem and pretending that it would go away, but it became obvious that something was seriously wrong.
Kevin has never fixed a washing machine. In fact, he’s never looked inside at the guts of a washing machine, but he’s also willing to roll-up his sleeves if it means saving a $65 service call.
This is a dual tutorial, I suppose. Firstly, it’s a look at how to check out a problem before calling in a repair professional. Hopefully it will inspire confidence in everyone’s ability to at least try diagnosing a problem. We’re not promising that all problems can be solved, especially if the problem involves a circuit board, but sometimes it’s an easy fix.
