Gnome Made Cupcake Topper Kit – Gift in a Jar
Gnome Made Cupcake Topper Kit
DIY Gift in a Jar
My mother-in-law came out for Thanksgiving and she’s obsessed with gnomes. She’s made me so many cute gnomes that I just had to return the favor and give her something gnomey.
She loves her neighbors and friends and she serves them constantly, so I knew that she was looking for cute and easy neighbor gifts to make this year. That was the inspiration for the Gnome-Made Cupcakes Kit–perfect for Day 8 of the Amazing 12 Days of Christmas Ideas series because today we’re putting Christmas in jars.
That’s right DIY’ers, it’s time to stuff Christmas into a mason jar. I’m stuffing my mason jar with cute gnome cupcake toppers, muffin cups and some bottle brush trees, and I’m tying it all together with a cute gift tag. Watch out neighbors because this Christmas gift in a jar is just for my gnomies!

It’s Day 8 and we are sharing Christmas In A Jar Ideas!
Cupcake Toppers are so cute! They elevate simple cupcakes, make everything more festive AND they’re a great gift especially when you put them in a jar with your other cupcake making supplies!
As I said in the introduction, my mother-in-law adores gnomes and flipped when I introduced her to Instagram and helped her follow @littlegreenbean. So, I had to make this kit with a Gnome theme, but you can make a Cupcake Kit with toppers in any theme you like. Include a box cake mix with your Cupcake Kit Jar and your gift is complete! A simple and useful gift for neighbors and friends this year.
Here’s my recipe for a Cupcake Kit in a Jar:
- Pint sized mason (canning) jar with lid.
- 12 cupcake toppers attached to toothpicks or straws.
- 12 cupcake/muffin liners – I prefer white or aluminum but you can use any color you like.
- A circular “Cupcake Kit” tag attached to the lid of the jar.
- A few small toys or cake toppers.
- Ribbon and a gift tag.
All the Christmas in a Jar ideas make perfect gifts and they’re easy to make in multiples for use as teacher and neighbor gifts.
I created a complete, ready to download Gnome-made Cupcake Kit printables set that’s available in my store. The set includes:
- 24 cupcake topper circles with images of gnomes, bunnies and cute goats.
- 8 Gnome-made with (heart) gift tags
- 4 “Gnome Made Cupcake Kit” circular tags that perfectly fit the top of the jar lid.
- Instructions on how to download the printables listed above into Cricut Design Space, and how to print and cut them onto sticker paper using your Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker Machines.
Although the set comes with instructions on cutting it out using your Cricut, you can simply print the pages on any color printer and cut them by hand.
Cupcake Kits in a Jar make the perfect gift! I don’t know about you, but I’m starting an assembly line to make these Gnome Made Cupcake Kits for all my besties!
