It’s Day 9 and we are sharing Pretty Gift Wrapping Ideas!
What else is there to say about my cheeky retro DIY gift wrapping idea except that you either love it or it’s just not your style. If not, I’m okay with that. But if you like wrapping that doesn’t take itself seriously, then you’re going to love these packages.
Rule #1 (okay, it’s not a rule because I don’t like rules–how about guideline?)
- Use brown craft paper to wrap. I know this sounds crazy since I just told you that I don’t like classic conservative wrapping and here I am telling you to use the most boring color of paper ever! But it’s cheap, and it’s a great canvas for all the other fun ribbons and tags. I also like white butcher paper for the same reason.
Rule #2
- Use hot glue instead of tape. Now this “rule” sounds more like me. But it also guarantees the prettiest packages regardless of your style. Tape looks terrible on wrapping paper, and it doesn’t always hold very well (at least that’s what I told my mom when I peeked). But hot glue holds wrapping paper nice and tight. It also keeps ribbon from shifting and tags in place. Plus, it doesn’t show! You can also use double stick tape, but I always stick it places that I didn’t mean to!
Rule # 3
- For heaven sake, have fun with it! It’s Christmas! Enjoy the process of wrapping gifts. You’re taking time to tell someone that they’re worth the extra effort of making their package look beautiful. I had a great time designing the cheeky gift tags, but I loved wrapping the presents even more. And I’m still covered in glitter from the blue ribbon.
Rule #4
- Download the gift tags and printable banner if you’re feeling cheeky too. They’re my gift to you. I’m so grateful that you took the time out of your busy, busy lives to read my blog. I made these tags for you to show you my sincere appreciation. I hope you love them and that you use them. But mostly, I hope that you know that the best gifts can’t be wrapped and you are one of the best gifts to this world.
