Snowflake Trees
DIY Snowflake Trees
Make Snowflake Trees Using your Cricut Cutter
I’d been seeing these metal trees in stores where the leaves looked a lot like snowflakes. It made me wonder if I could make a similar tree using snowflakes cut by my Cricut Explore Air cutting machine. This began the wonderful experiment that became my beautiful Snowflake Christmas Trees.
The Snowflake Christmas Trees were something that I created during my LIVE Chat and Craft. If you love to craft and want a friend to hang out while you craft, then you should join our Facebook Group where I live craft every Wednesday.
Creating Snowflake Trees like you see here are super easy when you use the Cricut Explore Air or Cricut Maker.
SUPPLIES NEEDED: Heavy Cardstock in green, floral wire (choose a sturdy gauge), small green beads, a block of wood with a hole drilled into it to fit the floral wire
STEP 1: Click here to access the Snowflake Trees project. It will open directly into your Cricut Design Space.
STEP 2: Cut your snowflakes out of heavy cardstock. Cutting the project once will give you enough snowflakes to create two trees.
STEP 3: Cut a piece of wire approximately 6 inches tall and glue one end into the block of wood.
STEP 4: Thread a bead onto the wire and glue it about 2 inches above the wooden block.
STEP 5: Thread the largest snowflake through the wire in the middle and rest it on the bead. Hot glue the snowflake onto the top of the bead.
STEP 6: Thread a bead onto the wire and glue it in place on top of the snowflake. Repeat the process, gluing first a bead, and then the next smaller snowflake onto the wire.
STEP 7: Glue a final bead onto the top of the wire and cut the remaining wire to finish it off.

If you want to cut out a village to go with your trees, I used the tutorial and free SVG cut file from Jennifer Maker’s tutorial.
